When the Weight Feels Heavy: How Moms Carry Stress (and still manage to keep going in faith)

When the Weight Feels Heavy: How Moms Carry Stress (and still manage to keep going in faith)

Let’s be honest—stress isn’t something moms visit occasionally.
It’s something we carry. To be truthful, some honestly carry it better than others.

It shows up in the mental load of remembering everything…The pressure to do everything…
And the quiet expectation that we should handle it all with grace.

From school schedules and work deadlines to laundry piles and dinner plans, stress builds in the small, everyday moments. And yet—I see moms keeping it together and still going.

But here is something we (I) tend to forget: We were never meant to carry it all on our own.

God is there with us to help us carry the load even the loads we keep hidden. The kind of stress that isn’t always visible. You know the stuff we hold inside:

  • The worries we don’t say out loud
  • The pressure to be everything for everyone
  • The quiet questions of “Am I doing enough?”

Even when no one else sees it… God does.

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle.” – Psalm 56:8

Every worry. Every tear. Every overwhelming moment—he knows it all!

When Strength Runs Low and the days seem to go on and on, you are just trying to make it through. This is when your faith is testing. Don’t give up, turn to God.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

God never asked us to be perfect moms. He asks us to lean on Him.

Even in the chaos.Even in the exhaustion. Even in the moments we feel like we’re falling short. Turn to him to find your strength, support, and just rest.

Let Go of “Holding It All Together”  So many moms feel like they have to hold everything together. Why do we do that? Are we comparing ourselves to others? Are we too hard on ourselves? God again doesn’t ask perfection. He just ask for a relationship with him. You just need to know when you are trying to hold it all together, just turn to him. Now is the time to just surrender.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

Not some of it. Not the “manageable” parts. All of it.

Every to-do lists.
Every worries about your children.
Every pierce of financial stress.
All the emotional weight.

You don’t have to carry what God is asking you to release.

So where is my peace? First you need faith. Do you have faith in God? Faith that he will calm your storm? So what does faith look like in your life? Let’s be honest, I don’t have time for the long quiet mornings (maybe someday but not in this stage I am in). So I rely on the quick intentional moments. For me that is:

  • A quick firecracker prayer while getting dressed
  • Playing worship music in the background
  • Taking 60 seconds to stop, breathe, and say, “God, its me again and I need You”
  • Putting my focus on Scripture (sticky notes all around the house, to remind me)

Stillness doesn’t require silence—it just requires surrender to God and stay focused on him. God NEVER Meant for you to do this alone. So if you are feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, tired, or just not measuring up, stop. Stop comparing because you ARE NOT failing! You’re carrying way more than you were ever intended to carry. God is right there in the middle of it with you.

Plus trust me, there are other moms in the EXACT same icky place you find yourself in. This is why I am extending RaeMarie & Me from just another boutique, but as a place to connect, even if it just by reading these blogs together. I want to talk and grow, a community of Godly women supporting each other. I want to show up for each other—not just in style, but in faith, encouragement, and community. Because sometimes what we need most…is to be reminded that we are seen, loved, and supported—by each other and most importantly by our Heavenly Father.

So as I concluded this, here is a final reminder for your heart. You are not alone.
You are not unseen. You are not expected to do this in your own strength. God is with you in the carpool line, in the kitchen, in the quiet late nights, and in the overwhelming moments. He is carrying you— even when it feels like you’re carrying everything else. You ask me how I can say all this confidently… Because I know… He has wrapped his arms around me more times than I could count. God has shown is mercy and love for me in the soft moments with my kids, in a passing kiss from my husband, or simply through forgiveness when I have failed miserably in my Christian walk. Ladies, I promise he has you too! Reach out to him and stop carrying this load. No one is perfect so stop comparing. God has blessed you and now it is time to destress. Enjoy this wonderful life you have!
